FAPA President Shares New Strategic Directions Starting 2021

On May 28, 2021, Dr. Yolanda Robles, the FAPA President for 2021-2026 shared the new strategic directions of FAPA in her inaugural message addressed to the FAPA council and to all pharmacists in Asia.

In her message, Dr. Robles explains the new vision and mission of FAPA following a series of strategic planning sessions initiated by the FAPA Bureau from the last quarter of 2019. It was during the term of our late President Pratomo that a strategic planning to review the direction of FAPA was initiated. The process had considered all aspects of the organization and its environment which led to the development of a clarified vision and mission,” Dr. Robles explains.

Dr. Robles urges Asian pharmacists to see challenges as opportunities and to step up as an important part of the health care system amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Never was there a time that we experienced a strong demand for our products and services than this pandemic. The demand for preventive and curative medicines was quite pronounced in most countries,” she writes.

She also highlighted in her message the need for FAPA Member Associations and council members to have a strong spirit of cooperation to attain FAPA’s vision. The strength of a federation is dependent on the collaborative relationships with, and among its component associations. In unity there is strength. This organizational strength should ultimately manifest itself in positive health outcomes for the peoples of Asia,” she adds.

Dr. Robles assumed her position 2 years ahead of her term as FAPA president following the demise of Mr. Mohamad Dani Pratomo. With her experience in leading various regional pharmacy organizations in Asia and as well as the Philippines, the FAPA Bureau expressed full confidence and support for her leadership in a special meeting held on February 27th, 2021.
