In 2018, the FAPA council approved the restructuring of the FAPA sections upon the recommendation of the 14th FAPA Bureau with the aim of gathering more experts working in a similar area of interest and encouraging more pharmacists to submit poster and oral presentations in the FAPA Congress. The seven (7) FAPA Sections reflect the current practice areas of Asian pharmacists attending the FAPA congress and the areas of expertise that are relevant to the growing needs of each country.

nDong-Churl Suh is a professor and Director of the graduate program at the College of Pharmacy at Chung-Ang University, Seoul, South Korea (CAU). He is also a Director of the Institute for Pharmaceutical Economics and Policy at CAU. He was the Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Dean of the Graduate School of Food and Drug Administration of CAU. He has also served for the FAPA Scientific Section as a chairman and the organizing committee of FIP Seoul meeting as vice-president Prior to joining CAU. he was a tenured professor and Director at Rutgers University School of Pharmacy. USA from 1994-2012.nnDr. Suh received his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Economics from University of Minnesota in 1993. his M.B.A. in Marketing from the State University of New York at Buffalo (1988) as well as his B.S. in Pharmacy (1979) and M.S. in Pharmacology from CAU. Seoul. Korea.nnDr. Suh’s research interests include cost-effectiveness of drug therapies and the impact of pharmaceutical care on patients resource utilization and outcomes, patients willingness to pay for pharmacists’ services. and impact of adverse drug reaction on treatment costs.nnDr. Suh has received several research excellence awards including Best Research Presentation Poster Awards from ISPOR three times: the New Investigator Award from the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy: the Health Outcomes Research Award from the American College of Clinical Pharmacy: and the Marketscan Outcomes Research Award from Thomson-Medstat. Chief coordinator of the Certified Smoking Cessation Service Provider programmer, core team member of the first national clinical practice guidelines (CPG) on Treatment of Tobacco Smoking, and Chairman of the 2016 CPG on Tobacco Use Disorder. Appointed as committee member for the technical working group on shisha and e-cigarettes, expert panel on e-cigarettes, Health Technology Assessment expert (smoking cessation) and vice chairman of Translating Evidence Towards Tobacco Control Policy committee. nMr. Nishio currently runs his five pharmacies in Toyama City, Japan. He has been working at a community pharmacy for 35 years and contributing to regional community residents’ health and hygiene, and medical care through filling a prescription, selling OTC drugs and taking health consultations, etc. Meanwhile, he has experienced the social changes in Japan such as progress of SDP and expansion of drugstores’ business due to a distribution reform. Therefore, he always looks for what a local pharmacy that meets the needs of the future should be. He is also actively involved in the affairs of the pharmacist’s associations, focusing on running the associations and training younger pharmacists. nDr. Yuh-Lih Chang is currently the director of pharmacy department, Taipei Veterans General Hospital (Taipei VGH). He has devoted himself to hospital and clinical pharmacy practice for over 25 years. During this time, Dr. Chang participated and led the development and renovation of pharmacy practice in expanding the scope of clinical pharmacy services, intensifying the collaboration with other medical professionals, and to set up the service model of clinical pharmacist conducted outpatient clinic services, promoting patient safety of medication use as well as the public image of pharmacists. Besides hospital pharmacy practice, Dr. Chang also contributed to pharmacy education and research, and has been recruited as a faculty in the department of pharmacology, National Yang Ming University since 2009. With broad research interests covering clinical pharmacy related topics and fields such as regenerative medicine and neurosciences, he has published more than 30 SCI papers. Dr. Chang actively seeks communication with international hospital pharmacy departments and pharmacy schools through supporting clinical pharmacists of Taipei VGH to visit and receive training in foreign countries and providing overseas training program for foreign pharmacy students and practitioners. In 2012, Mr. Joseph Wang initiated the annual Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) international training program. Dr. Chang participated in the program design and served as the primary lecturer of the training program, committed to the promotion of pharmacy practice and safe medication use among Asian countries. In recent two years, as one of the expert group of FAPA foundation, he started to go overseas to provide on-site assistance for Indonesia to setup national standards on medication management. This year, Dr. Chang was honoured with the 2018 Ishidate Award in hospital pharmacy, in recognition of his contribution in the elevation of hospital pharmacy practice.nn [/tabitem]nn[tabitem]n
