President’s Message

Dr. Yolanda R. Robles

FAPA PRESIDENT (2021-2026)

Warm greetings to all from FAPA!

It has been an inspiring journey since November 2022 when FAPA took a bold step forward with the slogan, “Stronger and Better Together.” Early in 2023, we welcomed our new Bureau members and Section Chairs, orienting them to FAPA’s vision, mission, and strategic plan while gathering their valuable insights for our future direction. This initial collaboration sparked the launch of our first project, the Asian Pharmaceutical Landscape, led by the Social and Administrative Section and actively participated in by our member associations. This project offered a comprehensive overview of healthcare systems, pharmacy practice, and education in Asia, highlighting key issues and strategic focus areas for FAPA in the coming decade.

Guided by the FAPA pharmacy development framework, a concrete plan of action was developed through a series of workshops. Three priority areas emerged: patient safety, pharmaceutical system strengthening through Universal Health Care (UHC), and health promotion and wellness. These broad action areas will be the focal points of our efforts from 2024 to 2034. With clear goals, targeted strategies, and measurable outcomes, FAPA is poised to effectively engage with member associations and partners across the region.

The year 2024 is a milestone for FAPA, marking our 60th anniversary and the launch of the FAPA Roadmap for the next 10 years. This roadmap emphasizes our dedication to the three priority action areas and underscores the importance of collaboration, both within our organization and with external partners who share our advocacy and direction. As we celebrate FAPA’s six-decade journey, we reflect on our growth from just five member organizations to the current 24, our milestones, enduring values, and our transformation in response to the evolving pharmacy landscape.

FAPA remains steadfast in its mission to promote goodwill and cooperation among member associations in Asia while advancing pharmacy practice, science, and education. Let us harness our strengths as an organization – our collective expertise, the power of collaboration, our commitment to professional transformation, and our altruistic service to the people of Asia.

I call upon your continued support and cooperation for the programs and activities FAPA has prepared, in alignment with our vision and mission. I look forward to working alongside you in the spirit of collegiality and camaraderie as we each contribute to improving the health of our populations.

Wishing you all the best in your practice. Stay safe always.

Sincerely,

Yolanda R. Robles, RPh, Ph
