After twelve years of establishment of the first school of pharmacy (thus named the School of Dispensary) by HH Prince Rangsit Payoonsak Chainart Narenthorn in December 8th of 1913, to produce westernized pharmacist to serve the nation, a group of 64 pharmacists founded the Pharmaceutical Society of Siam on March 5, 1929, located at house of MR Chai Chumsaeng which was the president of association at that time. The Association is apparently now reaching its 87 anniversary and will be centennial by 2029. In 1948, the Pharmaceutical Society of Siam has renamed to the “Pharmaceutical Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage” and be gracious to the Nationals.
With the concrete intention to protect the health welfare of the people and misunderstanding of pharmaceutical profession, the Pharmaceutical Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage met and explained importance of pharmacist role in healthcare to politicians. Finally, the Royal Thai Government has enacted Act 2479 (1936) to regulate the practice of medicine, pharmacy and Control Act of 2479 (936). Later, the Pharmaceutical Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage has proposed to amend the Drugs Act 2510 (1967) and also the founder of the Pharmacy Act 2537 (1994) and Pharmacy Council of Thailand.

Since FAPA’s expending its exposure and influence in Asia, we also would like to urge our Member Associations to be aware by the region colleagues, especially in pharmacy. In these serveries, we’ve kindly request the current 18 ordinary members of FAPA to provide 100~200 write-up and also a short film (<3minutes) to introduce us again the organization, its efforts in developing pharmacy profession, and also its expectation to FAPA, to work with FAPA to this global healthcare system.
