2015-2018

My name is Mohamad Dani Pratomo from Indonesia. As a pharmacist I’ve been in the Pharmaceutical Industry since the beginning of my career. Because of my calling to contribute in developing the pharmacy practice, I’ve been an active board member of the Indonesian Pharmacists Association since 1996. I am currently in the Board of Trustees after serving as Chairman from 2009-2014.

I first knew about FAPA in 1992 during the 2nd year of my career but didn’t join immediately, instead I contribute locally first. It’s only since the 22nd Congress in Singapore I attended FAPA Congress regularly. I became Vice President of FAPA from 2010-2014, then Elected President from 2014-2018. Since joining FAPA, I have come to realize that FAPA can be one of the resource reference for developing pharmacy practice.

The utilization of pharmacist in healthcare system varies widely from country to country. It is related very closely to the development of pharmacy practice. With the increasing complexity of diseases, sophistication of medicine and its risks, pharmacists’ role as patients’ guardian are very much required.

Knowing the reality, I am encouraging pharmacists from all around Asia to join and contribute actively in FAPA to share knowledge and experience in developing our profession for the benefit of society.

[FAPA Bureau Write-Up Series]:
Since FAPA’s expending its exposure and influence in Asia, we need our Bureau members to be outstanding and advocate for what they really would like to make FAPA different and bring people to be more aware of us as an international leading organization in pharmacy.  In these serveries, we’ve kindly request our Bureau Members (including President, Vice Presidents, and the Secretary General) to provide 100~200 write-up and also a short film (<3minutes) to introduce their efforts which have been done or plan to be done for us in FAPA; and it is always good to hear of their vision and planning for the development of pharmacy and pharmaceutical science, for us in Asia and the world.
